Osteopathy
What is Osteopathy?
Osteopaths are highly trained health care professionals, recognised by the NHS as Allied Health Professionals who are fully qualified to diagnose and treat independently as First Contact Practitioners.
Osteopathy is recognised by the British Medical Association as a discrete medical discipline, and all osteopaths must by law be registered with the General Osteopathic Council.

Visit an osteopath suffering from a variety of conditions including neck and back pain, joint or muscular pain, sports injuries, recurring headaches and more. Many patients are pregnant mothers, those with work strain, or pain and stiffness related to advancing years.
Osteopathic treatment consists of a variety of manual techniques.

Osteopathic soft tissue work combines a range of methods to improve muscle tone and promote circulation.
Massage, stretches, acupressure, myo-fascial release, neuro-muscular technique, rhythmic and harmonic technique may be employed. Joint mobilisation and specific manipulation (which may involve “clicking” joints) are used to aid joint mobility and function.
Cranial Osteopathic technique is a very gentle approach which can be applied to any part of the body to promote balance of movement and function.
Spinal manipulation combined with exercises has been shown in clinical trials to be highly effective in the treatment of back pain.
